These paintings are acrylics on canvas, a selection from over the last couple of years. My Dad was an architect, the eye for the built environment kind of runs in the family. In a place like Tasmania, with historic buildings galore, it gives one an appreciation for the later design periods and the industrial; constructing compositions of post-Georgian streetscapes, ( as in ‘Aurora’, ‘Trainsheds’ and ‘Gasworks’ ) is one of my aims. Another uses the prop of post-war interiors ( ‘Marimekko’ ) to frame the view.
